My new weekend brunch treat … two whole-wheat waffles with cut-up banana, frozen (thawed) mixed berries, and vanilla Greek yogurt. So delicious, so easy, so cheap, and so low in points on Weight Watchers. Plus my coffee with milk of course!
Looks like poo, but this was my breakfast every morning for the past week … a banana with a tablespoon of almond butter and a coffee with milk (no sugar). My day starts out great and quickly devolves from there … did a bit of cheating today *coughTim’scough* but still trying to make good choices overall. This weekend will be difficult, as I am going on a road trip with Reptile Man.
I like Special K cereal, so I decided to try one of the other Special K breakfast products. I have been drinking these for breakfast a couple of mornings a week … I have tried all of the flavours. My overall opinion: they taste really good, kind of like a milkshake. They are reeeeally sweet, which is great for me because I have such a sweet tooth, but it might not be everybody’s cup of tea. I like the vanilla and chocolate best, but I’m not a big fan of the strawberry. They’re not that filling and probably not worth the points on Weight Watchers. You’d be just as well having a glass of chocolate milk I think. But I do like them, and they are great for when you need breakfast in a hurry (when I’m running late). Also on the plus side, they have 12 grams of protein, 35% of your calcium RDA, 30% vitamin B6, plus a bunch of other essential vitamins and minerals. On the downside, 19 grams of sugar (that’s a lot, about the same as an Almond Joy chocolate bar, but only about half the amount of sugar that’s in a can of Coke).
I like to have a variety of choices for my breakfasts (as well as other meals) so I will continue to drink these a couple of mornings a week when I’m short on time. As long as it’s the only thing I’m having for breakfast, the damage is negligible.
